We will do our best to keep this list updated with current horses for sale that are either Dun the Right Way Horses or clients horses. We will list client horses as that if they are not our ranch horses. Our Ranch horses will list DTRWH in the post. Our foals the year they are born spend the summer with their mom's out on pasture with a herd, they are hauled several times and we visit often to do fly spray and hoof care on the mares, as well as rotate pastures so they are use to humans and we allow them all to cover around to human touch on their own behalf. We beleive that ranch raising is the best way and has proven to turn out some GREAT horses that owners LOVE! They Rave about them on their own Facebook page where they can share their stories of their babies and how they grow up. Once weaning comes we wean them all and let them be together as babies and mom's go out to fall pasture. After a few days we work with the babies by going in and spending time with them, some come around quicker than others but we don't force anything. We work with them at their pace. We do trim their feet and work on haltering here as well as brand them with the DTRWH brand. We then once we feel they are pretty solid in trusting people we turn them out with geldings and other mares in 40 acres so they can return to being a horse. When we bring the fall pasture horses back inculding their dams we turn all horses in together. This is where they learn social skills and they also learn to come to people much like they do in the summer when we visit. As our mares and other horses like to come visit the gates and with people, the babies learn to come to people without grain buckets. We have liked that we allow new buyers/owners of Chex babies to build their own relationship with their new partners. This means not alot of training goes in, but you will find them very easy to work with and train.
If we happen to have them past a yearling or older (Which is RARE) we turn them out with the herd in summer pasture where they spend in the hills with rocks, trees, ponds and of course wildlife and wide open spaces. We keep up with hoof maintenance and their shots and worming. We see these horses grow in confidence and in a natural way. They have been hauled alot, tied and of course good with their feet and well rounded in their mindset.
